Product name

Aluminum 5086

5086 is an aluminum alloy made primarily of magnesium. It cannot be heat treated, but strengthens the material through strain hardening or cold machining.
Since heat treatment has little effect on strength, the 5086 is easy to weld (especially by arc welding) and retains most of its mechanical strength. Good welding results and good corrosive properties in seawater make the 5086 very popular in ship gangways, shipbuilding and yacht hulls.

TOP
Aluminium 5086 alloy is annealed at 343 ° C and then cooled in air. It has excellent cold working properties at O-type temperatures, while slightly poorer cold working properties at H38 and H36 temperatures. Aluminium 5086 has good machining properties at strain hardening temperatures including H38, H36 and H34.
